Several months ago when I was first asked by my bestie to tag along on a work trip to Paris I honestly sorta brushed it off. Of course it sounded amazing but there’s no way it could happen. Right?!? What about the kids, work, life?? I’m a mom….I can’t possibly go on a trip without my kids and to Europe no less. Not to mention all the terrible things that had happened in France and the rest of the world for that matter. It just wasn’t safe (paranoid). I tend to be an over thinker in general but this was on another level. You could say I don’t take too many risks in life and definitely tend to play it safe most of the time. #boring
The thing was that everyone in my life was encouraging me to go and slowly but surely as the days went on I started to listen to them. How could they by wrong? They wouldn’t steer me in the wrong direction. Finally, one day it clicked and instead of focusing on all the reasons I shouldn’t go I started focusing more on the reasons why I should go. Did I even really need more than one reason…..we were talking about PARIS!
Never in my wildest dreams did I think that 5 months after writing my post Mon Petite French Pharmacy that I’d be walking into as many French pharmacies my little heart desired.
What can I say about Paris in the Summer…..well it consisted of lots of sitting at outdoor cafes while drinking wine and/or espresso, walking to the neighborhood patisserie and eating buttery croissants, laughing with my best friend, picking up flowers at the outdoor market, making amazing memories, walking all along the Seine River, time to recharge, selfies, shopping, exploring the city, learning about a country I’ve never been to, eating our way through the city and most importantly going outside my comfort zone which I was way outside of. It was tres magnifique!!
It was way beyond my expectations in every way and has left such a lasting impression on me. I finally understand why it’s one of the most loved cities in the world. Thank you to my bestest friend in the world for making that dream a reality. Without a doubt, the trip wouldn’t have been what it was if it weren’t for her by my side. We have made memories that will last a lifetime and for that I’m forever grateful.
Was it all just a dream??
